ChangeAgent Simplifies Orphan File Removal in Enterprise Web Sites

ALAMEDA, CALIF – April 15, 2002 – Expandable Language® today announced version 1.2 of ChangeAgent™, a software application for Web professionals that automates the entire process of Web site repair for large-scale Web sites. ChangeAgent provides a single, integrated solution for discovering, investigating, and repairing broken links and removing orphan files.

ChangeAgent is as simple to use as Windows Explorer with a three-pane view of folders, files, and file details. ChangeAgent quickly identifies problems by highlighting the orphan files and broken links in a Web site. Orphan files can be removed quickly in one batch operation. Removal can occur to a separate folder or the recycle bin, and files can be previewed before deciding to remove them. Individual files can be excluded from orphan removal, as can entire folders, such as a private section of a Web site that is not linked to the home page.

New feature in the 1.2 release of ChangeAgent include:

• Improved orphan handling, allowing quick exclusion of entire folders
• Optimizations for enterprise-sized sites (>50K files)
• Improved the processing of <OBJECT> and <APPLET> tags
• Inclusion/exclusion of report sections for broken links, orphan files, and syntax errors

ChangeAgent runs on Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 systems with the Microsoft Active Desktop installed. Active Desktop is pre-installed on all Windows® 98, Me, and 2000 systems. Users of Windows 95 and Windows NT systems can select the Active Desktop option during an Internet Explorer installation.
